Job Summary This position works independently and/or in conjunction with Process Engineers, Value Stream Leader, Group Performance Leaders, and/or production, and quality to improve and/or troubleshoot present processes as well as reliability and functionality of equipment. Lead in the creation, development, and improvement of equipment and processes as well as expansion of current equipment to improve safety, improve quality, improve reliability, and increase output. Manage existing technology and new technology on manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities Working independently or with others developing improvement in current equipment in operation or layout of new equipment. Serves as a technical lead for equipment and process improvement projects. Interacts and oversees equipment modifications, upgrades, maintenance, and new installations. Interacts with customers, R&D, Business Unit Leaders, and other Engineering functions, to assist process issues, and quality concerns. Stays abreast of new equipment / process developments in the Plastics Extrusion field. Serves as a process expert in troubleshooting manufacturing problems. Identify, recommend, and assist with upgrades for obsolete equipment, controls, and programs. Required Qualifications Demonstrated flexibility within a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with professional presentation and negotiation skills. Bachelor of Science in Engineering Required. Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering preferred. Experience in field 8 years or more. Knowledge of statistical techniques and tools, their use and interpretation. Requires ability to manage projects, processes, and people. Has demonstrated ability to work independently and focus on critical project parameters that determine success or failure. Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision. PLC experience is preferred. Additional Qualifications Comply with all established facility safety rules and policies. Attend and participate in monthly safety meetings. Required to wear safety shoes as well as standard site PPE. Works around rotating equipment, hot polymers, and high noise environments. Report unsafe conditions or injuries immediately.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
