We are seeking self-motivated and enthusiastic people to join our team of Garden Center Merchandisers. These positions offer flexible part time schedules working individually and as part of a team.
Position Overview:
The Garden Center Merchandiser is responsible for providing exceptional in-store customer sales and merchandising services in garden centers of nationally known home center retail stores.
Your primary goal is to help both the retailer and grower increase sales by keeping live goods and plant displays stocked and attractive to the customers. You will be maintaining, building, and stocking displays, watering plants, checking inventory, suggesting orders, gaining additional aisle displays, and communicating with store associates, supervisors, and store managers. You may also be called upon to service other departments of the store.
Building relationships with store associates and management is important so outgoing and friendly personalities are essential. This is a retail sales and service merchandising position offering competitive hourly pay and other benefits.
Responsibilities:
Setting up and maintaining plant displays
Water plants daily
Price-sign plant displays
Unpack deliveries
Track and report discarded plants and complete service reports
Communicating daily with Lead Merchandiser and or Area Supervisor
Retail merchandising, display, and plan-o-gram maintenance
Note: All retail team members will be expected, if possible, to follow other job related instructions and tasks as directed by management.
Position Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required.
Training is provided but prior retail and or merchandising experience is preferred.
Garden Center, Horticulture, Landscaping, Flower Shop experience is a plus.
Experience in Home Improvement retailers or Nursery Garden Centers is a plus.
A smart phone may be required for some locations to complete reports and submit photos during store visits (Android or iPhone).
Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and minimum auto insurance coverage required by the employee's state of residence.
English is the primary language skill. Bilingual skills may be required for some locations.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job employees are regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, kneel, bend, crouch, climb or balance. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The rolling carts on which plants are delivered must be pushed or pulled inside and outside of the store.
You will be driving to your scheduled store(s) during your workday throughout a geographic area.
