The After School Counselor I supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Specifically, the After School Counselor I is responsible for providing physical, mental and spiritual growth and development opportunities for each child in the program.
This position will plan and implement daily plans in accordance with age appropriate programming through academic rich activities.

The hours for this position are typically 2:

Responsibilities:
Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.
Build and maintain order and enthusiasm in a group.
Supervise and manage groups of school age children during eLearning and homework; lead them in physical activity games, arts and crafts, nutrition lessons, etc.
Develop and implement lesson plans for program times utilizing Risk management, State childcare COVID guidelines, social and emotional learning and academic enrichment activities.
Maintain equipment and facilities, and use only in an appropriate manner.
Report all program changes to Site Coordinator, Youth Program Director, or Executive Director.
Be prepared for program responsibilities as assigned including lesson plans, devotions, group activities, Family Events and water activities.
Assist in School's Out Days, Holiday Camp and Special Events as required.
Attend quarterly YMCA of Greenville Training events.
Build and maintain positive relationships at all times with children, parents and co-workers.
Create an environment that promotes belonging, achievement and relationships.
Adhere to all program rules as outlined in the Staff Manual, Personnel Policy and Code of Conduct and Risk Management Manual and any other program specific guidelines.
Assist in maintaining program standards at all times in regards to Quality Check Standards and Licensing Regulations.
Able to drive a 14 passenger bus, if over 20 years of age with a valid driver's license, when programming allows.
Encouraged to participate in the YMCA's annual support scholarship campaign.
Maintains positive relations at all times with members, participants and co-workers.
Attend all required staff trainings and meetings, to include New Staff Orientation, and CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, and Child Abuse prevention within the first 30 days of hire date.
Assist in maintaining accurate records at all times to include:
Attendance Rosters Daily (Arrivals and Dismissal)Medication Logs First Aid LogsDiscipline ReportsIncident ReportsClosing ChecklistAssists in all areas of the branch and association operations as requested by management.
Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumersAttend/complete required abuse risk management trainingAdhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumersFollow mandated reporting requirementsAdhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities
Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Minimum of 6 months experience working with youth.
Requires the ability to be a good role model and to adapt to changing needs and circumstances.
Preferred:
Minimum of 6 credits/units in Child Development/Elementary Education or 60 hours of approved Childcare related training (Requires Documentation).
At least one year of experience working in a childcare setting.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
