SCOPE OF
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Elementary School Principal, the elementary school teacher will effectively teach from a biblical worldview while managing a classroom and building positive relationships with students and parents.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES/
Essential Functions:
Effectively manage a classroom.
Teach all elementary school subjects from a biblical worldview and with excellence.
Create an engaging, relational, and joy-filled learning environment with the students.
Provide excellence in planning, teamwork, and communication.
Be creative, have a strong work ethic, and think outside the box.
Work in a team centered environment.
Include biblical integration in all subjects.
Engage students in inquiry-based activities.
Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFIED APPLICANTS:
Must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ; be involved with an evangelical, protestant church of like faith and practice; and agree with the philosophies, Statement of Faith, and Statement of Christian Life Commitment of Southside Christian School.
Have a commitment to the mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of Christian schooling as expressed by Southside Christian School demonstrated by their eligible children enrolled in Southside Christian School.
Bachelor's degree in elementary education is required.
Candidates with experience in teaching elementary school is preferred.
All candidates must be willing to obtain ACSI certification.
Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to evacuate students in the event of emergency.
Ability to sit, bend, stand, as needed in interactions with students.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
