120,000 depending on experienceCompany OverviewFounded in 2008 by professional kickboxer Shannon Hudson and his wife, Heather, 9Round is a specialized fitness center that brings boxing and kickboxing fitness training to the average person in a convenient, affordable, 30-minute, full body circuit format.
The program is developed around a proprietary and copyrighted system of nine challenging workout stations developed by Shannon himself.
Today, there are nearly 500 franchised 9Round clubs open and operating throughout the world.
Corporate Controller Job Duties Monitor the Closing Checklist and ensure all closing tasks are completed by assigned due dates Proactively update the Closing Checklist for new, recurring items that need to be added to the checklist to facilitate a more efficient and effective close Manage and mentor the Financial Analyst Oversee the procure-to-pay process Ensure inventory quantities are accurate and maintain the Company's internal costing structure Monitor and properly track all in-transit inventory Review all vendor invoices and remote deposits for accuracy, reasonableness and consistency with the operations of this business Support Corporate owned gyms with tracking expenses and monitoring of results For every month-end close, ensure that all recurring services are properly accrued Maintain the Company's fixed asset register and monthly depreciation schedule.
Be vigilant for invoices that are capitalizable in accordance with US GAAP Be vigilant of one-off, nonrecurring expenses that should be classified as EBITDA Addbacks Develop and implement the Company's monthly balance sheet reconciliation process and cadence Serve as primary liaison between the Company and external auditors.
Ensure audit PBC requests are fulfilled timely and keep the external audit on track Assist the CFO in the creation and preparation of monthly management reports Assist the CFO and Management Team on various ad hoc reporting needs Support the reporting needs of Franchisees in the 9Round system Skills and Competencies Accounting Information Systems - Prior experience with advanced Enterprise Resource Planning systems a big plus, especially NetSuite.
Problem Solving - Must be able to use logic and critical thinking to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; looks beyond the obvious and does not stop at the first answer.
US GAAP - Apply knowledge and ability to research U.
S.
generally accepted accounting principles and to the Company's audited financial statements, Franchise Disclosure Document and documentation requirements.
Accounting for Foreign Currency Transactions - Must be proficient with the concepts of accounting for foreign currency transactions.
Microsoft Office - Use spreadsheets and other Microsoft Office products to complete work.
Ability to extract data and manipulate into value-added information using Company-provided tools is necessary for success in this role.
Knowledge of pivot tables, lookup functions, etc.
Team Player - Must be able to work well with others and obtain support from various departments in a time sensitive manner.
Communication Skills - Must be able to communicate effectively to peers and others within the organization.
Must have strong written communication skills.
Ability to communicate progress on assigned tasks and projects to the CFO and Management Team is critical in the Company's continuously changing environment.
Accepting of Change - Must be able to embrace change and adapt to the needs of a growing and continually evolving organization.
Education/Certifications Bachelors Degree in Accounting required.
CPA or CMA preferred Other Expectations Extended working hours may be necessary to meet monthly and annual timelines at various points throughout the year.
Longer hours should be anticipated during close week (the first five business days following a month end) and throughout the year end closing process and Franchise Disclosure Document preparation process.
Act as a valued business partner to the CFO and Management Team so that all Company deadlines (e.
g.
external audit, Franchise Disclosure Document and Tax Compliance) are met.
The Corporate Controller should demonstrate a philosophy of continuous improvement toward his/her work product and the Company's various business processes.
