Job Summary Under the direction the site Technical Manager, this position works independently or in conjunction with other engineers, VSLs, GPLs, TPLs, and production, and maintenance personnel both in-house and at customer level in analyzing and developing solutions in the direct support of the digital press system in converting. This includes design and development of new processes, modification of existing processes, cost improvement initiatives, quality improvement projects, and project commercialization. Responsibilities Develops improved methods for delivering finished product to our customers Identifies and serves as the primary driver for cost improvement and standardization projects to remove costs from current and new operations. Serves as the primary technical lead for quality improvement projects for new digital printing start up process Interacts and oversees technical perspective of the daily production activities Interacting withcustomers to assist with quality concerns and assists in identifying new or improved products or methods for delivering value-added products to customers Stays abreast of new equipment / process developments in the Polymer Extrusion field Communicates regularly to knowledge with other process engineers in other locations Identifies and implements new/improved methods of manufacturing to improve profitability Works with Global Engineering to implement solutions within the plant, and assists in handing off projects from concept to full scale operation. Qualifications BS in Engineering Required The position requires a high degree of scientific, engineering, and technological expertise and has a good understanding of associated fields. Requires experience with varied manufacturing processes such as printing, laminating, and slitting. Peers, associates, management, and business leaders recognize the individuals in this position as being highly competent technically. Requires using and interpreting statistical techniques. Requires ability to manage a project and process involving multiple manufacturing areas, plants, and across various portions of the business Minimum six years prior experience Experience in Plastics Extrusion and converting process preferred Statistical analysis experience preferred Demonstrated knowledge and use of DMAIC process. Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision Works effectively within a matrix managed organization
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Electrical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
